When you meet Kayleigh Olson you will be impressed by this future community leader. An honour roll student at Moose Jaw’s Central Collegiate,

Kayleigh passionately shares her thoughts and experiences on a variety of important topics that challenge today’s youth such as bullying and Intergenerational Trauma due to the Residential Schools. A proud member of the Whitecap Dakota Sioux First Nation, Kayleigh talks about the anxiety and the effects these issues have had on her growing up.

By discussing her personal story of the struggles and hurt she has faced as a young First Nations girl, Kayleigh hopes to make a positive impact and inspire others to follow their dreams. For her efforts, Kayleigh has been recognized by Residential School survivors, Elders, Community Leaders and her peers for her dedication and strength as a role model.

Her goal is to assist in the overall healing process by getting people from all walks of life to share and talk to each other.

A former Saskatchewan Representative for the RCMP National Youth Advisory Committee, Kayleigh has also been recognized at the FSIN Strength of Our Women Gala for Indigenous Youth and Women.

The community minded Kayleigh dedicates time to speak and dance at many local and provincial ceremonies and traditional events.

Kayleigh, who’s traditional name is Beautiful Thunder Voice Woman, is always thankful for the opportunity to uses her voice to bring awareness to issues that affect First Nations Youth.

Inspirational and educational, Kayleigh is available for your community events or to visit the schools in your area.
