Michael Ball “Ballsy” has long been a fixture in morning radio in Regina and in the sports world as host of the Roughrider Game Day Pre-Game show and Roughrider Round Table – Call in show on 620 CKRM; he also gets into the on-field action as a sideline reporter during Rider home games. In addition to his radio career, Michael was both the anchor and producer of a one hour weekly TV sports show on Access 7 Communications from 2001 to 2004. You can catch him today as the part-time host of Access Communication’s “In the Huddle” program.

Michael is involved with various charities and events in Saskatchewan. He played a significant role in creating the famous downtown Regina event entitled "Stix on Rose". In 8 years, the street hockey tournament has brought NHLERS together with the community and raised over $600,000 for Palliative Care in Saskatchewan. In addition, "Ballsy" has boxed in 3 charity events to help raise over $30,000 for 2 local boxing clubs in support of inner city youth.

Michael played for the Regina Rams from 1990 to 1993, winning a Canadian Championship with the team in 1993. He continues to pass his passion for the sport on through coaching as he's heavily involved in the RMF. Michael makes his home year-round in Regina with his wife and 2 kids.

" It was terrific, he was very involved, great at ad-libbingg. Very good with door prizes, super with the humor. Definitely a keeper. "

Bob Ulrich, RONA 2011 Western Canada Commercial Trade Show Manager

"We had the privilege (yes, I mean privilege) of having Mr. Ball emcee our 2011 fundraising dinner. Those who attended our dinner are already asking if we're having him back next year. That easily sums up the job he did. Michael had the crowd in his hand from the time he was introduced until the evening ended. Michael is clever, funny, and quick with the jokes. And during a break in the evening, when I asked Michael if he thought everything was going okay, he asked if our committee was satisfied how the evening was moving along. He wanted to make sure we were happy with the job he was doing.  I highly recommend Michael as an emcee. You can bet there will never be a dull moment."
