Rod Pedersen has been the voice of the Saskatchewan Roughriders for 15 years and has been broadcasting for 19 years. He first appeared on Roughrider broadcasts in 1991 as a sideline reporter, while also calling Regina Rams football games on radio at the age of 18. Today, along with being the voice of the Riders, Rod has a daily sports talk show on CKRM called the "Sports Cage". Rod is also a Best Selling Author for his book "Green Magic". Rod was awarded the 2011 Best Blog Award for the Best Sports Blog.

Raised on a farm near Milestone, SK, Rod is a life long Riders fan and realized a dream in 2007 when he was fortunate enough to broadcast Saskatchewan's Grey Cup Championship back to his home province from Toronto. He became just the second person in Canadian history to broadcast a Grey Cup and Memorial Cup on radio.

Rod attended Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta before embarking on an award-winning career in the media which has seen stops at CFSL Weyburn, CKBI Price Albert, and currently CKRM Regina where Rod is the voice of the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders.

In addition to his work on radio, Rod Pedersen is the Regina correspondent on Sportsnet and his weekly newspaper column is carried in 23 Saskatchewan publications. In 2007, Rod was voted Canada's Top Sports Blogger by the Canadian Blog Awards (see his blog at

Rod is also active in the community when he's off the air. He has a great motivational presentation called "Finish The Job" that is very popular with youth, sports and business organizations.

Rod makes his home year-round in Regina with his significant other Cindy and their three daughters Alyssa, Caeley and Alyia.

"Rod was excellent as the Emcee of our event on March 19th , he just took control of the day , starting by announcing the goals at the initiation hockey game , signing 120 mini sticks and just generally associating with people at the rink. The Evening we introduced Rod and he just took it from there, we were counting on him to keep things rolling smoothly and he did just that, thanks Rod for doing a great job."

    Bob Smith, Stranraer Elks Club

"We were fortunate to have Rod Pedersen as our emcee. He was very well prepared and was able to keep our evening moving very smoothly. He was a consumate professional."

Mark Ollinger, Chair of Zenon Park Sports Gala

"The weyburn red wings have used Rod Pedersen to emcee our sports dinner for the past 2 years. Having Mr. Pedersen do our event has taken our sports dinner from a "good" event to a "great" event! We are already planning on next year. On behalf of the red wings I would like to thank Mr. Pedersen for doing a great job and we look forward to working with them again for next years function. "

Ryan Williams, President - Weyburn Red Wings

"Another very successful event with Rod Pedersen at the helm as MC. Rod is the consummate professional. He respects the tone of the event as established by the host committee, keeps the event on time, and makes everyone at ease with his knowledge of the Saskatchewan sport community. We are looking forward to the next opportunity when we can work with Rod."
