Hello!

Training HITT Workout

This week my friend put me through a good HITT workout instead of my usual morning cardio. If you don’t know what HITT is, its ‘high-intensity interval training’, is a training technique where you give 100% effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods. This type of training is nice because it gets your heart rate up and keeps it there while burning more fat in less time. It was a good change (even though I wasn’t very good at it)! We did 3 different rounds of circuits with 3 different exercises in each, first were legs, followed by abs and finished it off with a cardio circuit. There are many different ways to approach a HITT workout, another way I do HITT is on the stair stepper. Start at a low level, and every minute for 5 minutes go up a level, once the 5 minutes is up go back down to the level you started at and repeat for a total of 30 minutes.  My friend who has been joining me at the gym for the past few weeks has already started seeing changes in her body, and can even notice its easier for her to get up in the mornings. It’s great to hear that, I also love to hear how sore she is after I put her through my workouts. Going to the gym on a daily basis is a change of lifestyle, and it doesn’t start off easy. Once you get into a routine the gym becomes your second home.

HITT Workout Training

The hardest part for me is food, I love food! Preparing lunches and suppers helps me a lot because I know I already have it made and it stops me from going out and spending money on fast food.  ‘Abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym’ is so true!! You could work out as much as you want but it all depends on what you are putting into your body. Water is key as well. When I was preparing for my photo shoot I cut out all liquids 18 hours before my shoot and it was the hardest thing ever!!! You don’t realize how much water you drink and how much you take it for granted until you cut it out.

Well I’m off to the gym, (weird right?) Have a good week everyone!
